Small Roughing Knife - 1 1/2" blade

The OCC knives (formerly called Shipley Knives) have been one of our best selling knives and they have just been re-introduced to the market. This new generation of knives are made from O1 tool steel and go through a unique tempering process. All the blades have a flatter grind which delivers a nice, easy cut! The handles are made from native Missouri Walnut. The Small Roughing Knife has a 1 1/2" blade and approximate handle length is 5 1/2".  All knives are made by Mike Shipley.

In my opinion OCC kinves are great. The handles are long enough for my hand and are super confortable espesially is you have problem with your hands. The blades are super sharp and stay sharp for a long time of use. Of course it has to be sharpen and maintain in good condition, for best performance. My overall opinion, OCC knives are one of the best knives in the market. The ones that I have I got them from PJ at Treeline usa. They have an excelent customer service and are ready to help when you have a problem.

Great knife comes sharp and after a few swipes on the strop cuts amazing. It really shines when you need a little stiffer blade with some leverage.

Great for beginners, good size and finish

Wonderful knife and great service from Treeline. This is my first carving knife and size is right and not intimidating. Coming from using camping fixed blades and folding knives of Spyderco, Benchmade, ColdSteel, Kershaw etc. shopping for this type of a knife was a different world all together.

This is my first use of O1 steel, no chips or rolls so far, which is impressive for such thin blade and it seems easy to keep sharp - using mostly a strop with green compound, have not needed to use DMT diamonds yet.

Handle might look rustic/simple, but it is very ergonomic and easy to hold. Love this little knife so far, lots of whittling fun.
