Medium Roughing Knife- 1 7/8" blade

The OCC knives (formerly called Shipley Knives) have been one of our best selling knives and they have just been re-introduced to the market. This new generation of knives are made from O1 tool steel and go through a unique tempering process. All the blades have a flatter grind which delivers a nice, easy cut! The handles are made from native Missouri Walnut. The OCC Medium Roughing Knife has a 1 7/8" blade and approximate handle length is 5 1/2". All knives are made by Mike Shipley.

    Occ 1 7/8” knife

Definitely one of my favorites, the blade is long enough for anything that I usually carve and slims down enough for all but the smallest detail work. As with all Occ knives it comes sharp enough to use, but a little work on your strop it cuts basswood like a raw potato.

    Great knife

This is a great knife. Great steel and I love the simple handle. It fits really well in my hand and is a little longer than most carving knife handles at 5 1/2" long.

    OCC medium roughing 1 7/8"

Excellent blade, sharp out of the box although I did some light stripping. Compared to my Flexcut pelican knife, it's about equal in overall cutting. I will say the OCC's slightly longer handle did give a little more leverage making cutting a little easier. The point is at a bit of odd angle but no big deal. We'll see how well it holds the edge.

    fantastic buy and knife

needs very little honing and would be fine right out of the box, but I am picky. Handle is very long but very comfortable. I would but more of their knives
