TAGUA NUT SLICE
Tagua Nut is a vegetable form of ivory nearly indistinguishable from animal ivory, and has been used for over 200 years in the manufacture of buttons and other items. These slices have been cut from Tagua nuts selected for their large size and ivory white color. The hull of the nut makes a pleasing brown border in a natural shape. Hand cut and polished to a satin sheen, these slices are an ideal surface for scrimshaw or shallow relief carving. Intricate designs can also be cut into these slices with a scroll saw. Tagua is easily drilled or worked with all power carving tools. Slices are approximately an 1/8" thick. Slices are approx. 3/4" x 1 1/4" and are polished to a satin sheen.
