Double Bevel Mora Hook Knife

The Double Bevel Mora Hook Knife has been manufactured in Mora, Sweden since 1891. The blade is made from Swedish stainless and hardened to an Rc 59 with a tang that extends the full length of the handle for the greatest durability. These hook knives are fantastic for bowl and spoon makers. The Double Bevel Mora Hook Knife can be used by both right and left-handed carvers for both a push and a pull stroke. The overall length is about 6 1/4" with an oiled birchwood handle.

    Sharp with a lot less tearing

    I just started whittling and spoon carving a year ago. For Christmas last year my wife gave me an inexpensive spoon carving set and the hook knife was very hard to work with. It tore away a lot of material even when carving “downhill” or with the grain.

    The double bevel hook knife knife from Mora is quite the opposite. What a pleasure to work with. Right out of the package the Mora hook knife is VERY sharp. Wood easily SHAVES off and I don’t have any tear out or chattering on the grain as with the old knife.
