Threaded rod has been the material of choice for attaching cane and walking stick handles or for joining pieces of wood where high strength is required in the joint. Drill a hole the same size as the rod and secure with epoxy. The epoxy will bond to the wood and the threads for a very strong and permanent joint. It is available in 3 different sizes, and each piece is 12" long and can be easily cut to length with a hacksaw.
