Silvern 1 1/2" Carving Knife

The New Silvern Carving Knives are made with 01 tool steel and hardened to a Rockwell hardness between 60-62. The beautiful oval shaped walnut handles are comfortable for most carvers but could easily be modified to fit your hands. The blades are about 1/16" thick and "carving sharp" right out of the package. Handles are about 5" long. Each knife is custom made and will vary a little in blade and handle shape.

    Silvern 1.5 in knife

    I ordered this knife along with a 1.75in one. I am VERY disappointed in the quality control issues. Both knives came unfinished and the handle on the 1.5 inch knife had uneven sanding on each side. The blade does not sit center in the handle. The blade needed a lot of work to get the knife to cut wood smooth. I would think this knife being $45 it would have came finished (or very close to it). After about an hour of work on the blade (each knife, 2hr total). It will now finally cut wood. I will not be buying again unless these issues are fixed. I will stick with OCC tools for now.
